Horse Trailer Renovation: The Beginning

We FINALLY have our own rig!

I am going to have these updates for you once a month since this is a on our spare time project and it's going to be over the next few months.

First things first let's take a tour of the trailer and see what it looked like initially.

The sink area, bathroom door, and main area as you walk in there was carpet squares over the linoleum initially but it was super wet and was removed before we left the dealership.

The step and closet into the bedroom area.

The bedroom area with a closet in the front.

Finally, the bathroom.

The horse area holds 3 horses (there is room for one more)! Its like brand new we don't need to do anything! It is an all aluminum floor that is coated for protection.

The back tack (hoping all my stuff for shows fits here…)

I have held out on getting a trailer until I could get exactly what I wanted and I got more than I ever expected! That’s because I am willing to do a bit of work to make it my own and renovate the living quarters.

We did start work this month, but mostly it was demolition and finding the source of the leaks in the living quarters and sealing them up.

The ceiling is ripped out and we let it sit we got a lot of rain for the first few weeks so it was a lot of sealing then letting the rain hit and then checking to see where the leaks were. Luckily the A/C and bathroom vent were resealed by the dealership before we took it home.

There were a few spots on the side of the trailer that my husband did reseal, this is something that you should check each year so you don’t have the water leaks and damage this trailer has. Check out how wet this ceiling panel was above the bedroom!
