First things first why a bar of shampoo?
I use a bar of soap myself, and they have worked for generations. Liquid soap you always use too much and it doesn’t last as long as a solid soap. I like the that there is less waste, I can sell a naked bar of soap, no bottles or a reusable tin that is also 100% recyclable!!
When bathing my animals I never diluted the liquid into a bucket, I am all of 5 foot nothing so dumping a bucket on anything over 15HH was a pain. Since I didn’t dilute the liquid and poured it on them, it took forever to rinse or it never really fully rinsed off. Both were annoying and a problem. The bar of soap I am able to scrub on, and then use my grooming glove to scrub and spread the lather. Rinsing is easy, and fast.
They are easier to store, I have tins that they can be stored in or just out on a shelf. The tins keep the soap clean in the bathing bucket for show season.
How to use a shampoo bar on a horse or dog:
1) Wet animal completely
2) Using soap bar itself, sponge, or loofah rub to create lather and scrub animal.
3) For deep clean use grooming mitt or rubber scrubber to scrub stains.
4) Rinse
This has cut the time it takes to bathe my animals down. My animals are shiny, clean and super soft!
